History trip to the Black Country Museum

To support their studies on the Industrial Revolution, some of our A-Level History students went on a trip to the Black Country Living Museum in the West Midlands, a 26-acre, open-air representation of life in one of the first industrialised landscapes in Britain.  Accompanied by two of our teachers, James and Frances, the students learned how the machinery and equipment used in that era revolutionised manufacturing in the region and turned it into an industrial powerhouse.

They also took part in a terrifying lesson from 1912, to get a taste of what school would have been like in that era. Ironically, it was the teachers who were sent out for bad behaviour!
