Pre-A-Level Programme

Our Pre-A-Level Programme offers students the opportunity to build their academic English skills in preparation for A-Level or BTEC study.

Programme details:

AGE: 15+

 

COURSE LENGTH: 3 or 2 terms

 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: A minimum overall IELTS score of 4.0 for September; for January start minimum overall IELTS score of 4.5.

 

PROGRESSION: A-Level or BTEC Business

 

MAXIMUM CLASS SIZE: 10

 

START DATE: September 2024 or January 2025

Which subjects will I study?

Students on the Pre-A-Level Programme will study a range of subjects during their time here.

 

Subject List:

  • English for Academic Purposes
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • History
  • Sociology

Students will also be enrolled on our Super-Curricular Programme and will have the opportunity to take part in P.E. and all activities that are offered by the College.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COURSE

  • Do I have examinations at the end of the course?
    The only examination you will have to sit will be an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) examination at the end of the Programme to assess your progress in preparation for further study.
  • Can I sit examinations for one of my subjects?
    No, as this Programme is designed to solely prepare you for A-Level or BTEC study, where you will be required to sit exams.
