PRINCIPAL – MARK LOVE BEd PGCLME
Mark has worked in education for 35 years. He has fulfilled various roles including that of Vice Principal, Governor and Senior Tutor and his career to date includes 20 years in Principal roles across four different sixth form colleges. A teacher of A-Level Economics, Business and Politics, his career has focused upon the academically non-selective sixth form college sector.Mark is a passionate believer in leading colleges that celebrate every student’s success, not solely those of the academic high achievers. He joined Oxford Sixth Form College in November 2017, after finding a college whose staff and students share his ethos. Carole has over 35 years’ experience in education with a focus on teaching and management. She has a degree in Operational and Strategic Management in Education and has worked both in senior management roles and pastoral roles. She is the Designated Safeguarding Lead at the college and Safeguarding Governor for one of our sister schools. In her role as Vice Principal Carole has responsibilities across boarding, pastoral and academic courses, line managing the Director of Student Services and the Directors of Studies.

Marc has a BA in English Literature from the University of Roehampton. He has worked in Academic Management in the independent schools sector for nearly 20 years, both in Oxford and in London. Marc’s role encompasses the management of examinations, producing and managing the teaching timetable and enabling support for SEND students.
Directors

Sevi has responsibility for pastoral care and College boarding, line managing the Senior Tutors and Heads of House. Formerly a Senior Tutor herself, Sevi has been working with international students for more than ten years and her ability to understand students’ learning styles and needs has allowed her great success in this role. Sevi has a Master’s degree in Education Materials and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Washington holds a DPhil in Educational Studies and an MSc in Educational Research Methodology, both from the University of Oxford, as well a BEd in Educational Administration. He has been teaching Maths and Further Maths for nearly 30 years and is an Associate Examiner for Pearson.

Sylvia holds a Bachelor’s degree, CELTA and DELTA, and has been teaching EFL and EAP content since 2003 to learners of a wide range of levels from A1 to C2 in Oxford, Lisbon and Toronto. She has a background in EAL curriculum development and has created ESP courses to support international learner progress within their subjects. Her area of specialism is IELTS writing, and she is interested in focussing on learner attainment in a wide range of subjects. Sylvia has previously held roles as Director of Studies and Centre Director.

Lynette has over 12 years of experience in the education industry, having worked across both the independent and state sectors. She has worked within a number of roles in the College Admissions department and is therefore adept at crafting the perfect student journey.
Senior Tutors

Alison holds a BA (Hons) Communication Studies degree from the University of Sunderland. Formerly a Business tutor of 14 years, she has 10 years’ experience working in the industry.

Robert holds a BA(Hons) in History & Social Science and MSc in Sociology from the University of Oxford. He has over 10 years of teaching & research experience.

Laura holds a BA in Applied Social Science and a Postgraduate degree in Psychology. Prior to joining the College, she gained a CELTA qualification and taught English as a Foreign Language during travels to Central America. Laura is certified Level 2 in counselling and Level 3 in safeguarding.
