The results are in from this year’s British Biology Olympiad, organised by the Royal Society of Biology. Over 10,000 students from more than 700 schools worldwide took part in this year’s competition, now in its 26th year.

Just under half of the 28 students from Oxford Sixth Form College who entered received recognition for their achievement, with one Gold medal – the first to be won by one of our students – one Bronze medal, 4 Highly Commended and 4 Commended awards.

This has been our most successful year so far, both in terms of outcome and participation. Huge congratulations to our medal winners Alexander Andrews and Francesca Payling and to all our participants for their hard work getting ready for the competition.

The students will be receiving their much-deserved certificates in the near future – watch this space!
