FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to sit examinations at the end of the course?

The only examination you will have to sit will be an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) examination.

Can I sit examinations for one of my subjects?

If your teachers are confident that you can achieve at least a GCSE grade 5 in a subject, yes, you can sit the GCSE examination for that subject.

If I am doing really well in the first half term of the Pre-A-level course, can I take examinations in all of my subjects?

Your teachers and Senior Tutor will closely monitor your progress and if they all agree, you can move across from the Pre-A-level course classes to the One Year GCSE course classes. Students studying the One Year GCSE course sit GCSE examinations in all of their subjects at the end of the academic year.
